Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Mayor Mostafizar Rahman and his wife Jelly Rahman have tested positive for coronavirus. The couple is currently receiving treatment at home.
RCC health department chief Kamruzzaman confirmed the news to The Business Post.
According to the online briefing of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday, Rangpur has 119 new positive cases in eight districts among total 244,020 confirmed cases to date.
