Bangladesh registered 74 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Thursday, which is highest ever in a single day, taking its tally to 9,521 in the country.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter in a press release.
Besides, 6,854 people tested positive during the same period taking the total number of infections to 6,66,132, said the DGHS.
Bangladesh is currently observing a seven-day lockdown that began from Monday in the wake of a second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 565,030.
