A Supreme Court lawyer has sent a legal notice to the government and Regent Hospital authorities asking them to give Tk 10 lakh in compensation to each of the victims who received fake Covid-19 certificates issued by the hospital.
Director of Children Charity Bangladesh Foundation (CCBF), Ishrat Hasan, sent the legal notice on Sunday virtually to the health and home secretaries, Director General of Directorate General of Health Services and chairman and managing director of Regent Hospital.
Barrister Md Abdul Halim, who served the legal notice on behalf of the organisation said, “We requested the authorities concerned to make a list of the persons, who got fake Covid-19 certificates from the hospital, and provide them with the compensation in 48 hours.”
The legal notice said, “Regent Hospital has committed fraudulence with the patients by issuing false Covid-19 certificates, which is illegal and inhuman.”
