Reinfected, Narsingdi statistician dies from coronavirus

A statistician of the civil surgeon office in Narsingdi died from coronavirus this morning (Monday) as he got reinfected after recovering from the virus.

Abdul Matin, 59, died at 8:00 am while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), confirmed Narsingdi Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Titon.

Titon said Matin tested positive for Covid-19 in April even if he was not showing symptoms.

Later, Matin tested negative and subsequently started attending the office.

Soon after he started showing Covid-19 symptoms like fever, body ache, breathlessness and pain in the throat, the civil surgeon said, Matin was admitted to Narsingdi District Hospital, a dedicated Covid-19 treatment facility.

He was later shifted to DMCH where he had been undergoing treatment since June 10.
