Dhaka city dwellers on Saturday woke up with rain-soaked capital, causing unbearable woes for regular commuters and office-goers.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the rain will continue to pour across the country.‎

Meteorologist Abul Kalam Mallik told ‎‎The Business Post that light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur temporarily at most places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram divisions and at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

Also, day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged, he said.‎

‎He added that the intensity of rainfall may reduce between June 21 and 23, however, it may increase slightly from June 24 onwards.‎

‎It rained 38 mm in Dhaka until 9:00am while Chattogram recorded the highest rainfall of 125 mm.

The country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius at Srimangal in Sylhet and the lowest one today 23.5 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi.
