A Dhaka court on Wednesday set May 15 for submitting probe report in a case lodged over the escape of two militants, who have been sentenced to death, from police custody at a Dhaka court.
April 5 (Wednesday) was fixed for submitting the report in the case. But the concerned investigation officer failed to do it. Allowing a time plea of the prosecution, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah Diba Chanda fixed the new date.
Death-row convicts Abu Siddiq Sohel and Moinul Hasan Shamim, members of banned militant outfit Ansar-al Islam, were whisked away by their associates by beating police and spraying some chemicals on their eyes at Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court arena on November 20, 2022.
Court inspector Md Julhash later filed the case at Kotwali Police Station.
