Reserved women's seat MPs take oath

Fifty elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to reserve women's seats took their oaths on Wednesday afternoon. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at a ceremony in the Jatiya Sangsad.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the ceremony, along with Deputy Leader of House Matia Chowdhury, Deputy Speaker Shamsul Hoque Tuku, Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, Whip Abu Sayeed Swapon, and Iqbalur Rahim was also present there.

Parliament Secretariat Senior Secretary KM Abdus Salam conducted the oath ceremony. Later, these lawmakers attend the Parliament session after the ceremony.

The reserved women seat MPs were elected without contest. The EC published the gazette of election results on Tuesday.
