Ten more Covid patients died in the past 24 hours at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital till Sunday morning, according to the district's health officials.

"Of the deceased, one was Covid-19 positive while eight died with Covid-like-symptoms," said Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

However, another patient died after testing negative for the virus, he added.

Among the fatalities, four were from Rajshahi and Natore each and two from Chapainawabganj. They were between 35 to 65 years old.

With 55 new cases, a total of 434 people are currently undergoing Covid treatment at the hospital against 357 Covid-dedicated beds.

On Saturday, 188 samples were tested in the hospital's lab and 373 in the PCR lab. Of these, 49 people were identified as Covid positive in the RMCH Lab and 85 in the PCR Lab.

As per the test ratio of the samples, the infection rate was 29.08 per cent in the division.

So far, 347 people died at RMCH till Sunday.
