Seventeen more Covid patients died in the past 24 hours at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital till Saturday morning, according to the district's health officials.
"Of the deceased, eight were Covid-19 positive while nine died with Covid-like-symptoms said Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).
Nine of them were from Rajshahi, two from Naogaon, four from Chapainawabganj, and two from Natore. They were between 35 to 65 years old.
With 52 new cases, a total of 431 people are currently undergoing Covid treatment at the hospital.
On Friday, 188 samples were tested in the hospital's lab and 313 in the PCR lab. Of these, 49 people were identified as Covid positive in the RMCH Lab and 113 in the PCR Lab.
As per the test ratio of the samples, the infection rate was 34.49 per cent in the division.
So far, 337 people died at RMCH till Saturday.
