Two people, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka on Sunday.
One of the victims was identified as Mohammad Rabbi, 23, son of Joynal Miah of Tulatuli village in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi. Identity of the woman could not be known immediately.
Police said Rabbi was injured critically when a truck hit a rickshaw carrying him near Rayerbazar Shaheed Buddhijibi graveyard around 6:30am.
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries. Rickshaw puller Wahid Miah also sustained injuries in the incident and took treatment at DMCH.
In another incident near the Jatrabari intersection, an unidentified woman, 40, was injured seriously when she was hit by a running car around 1am. She was taken to DMCH where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.
The bodies were kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
