The body of Haider Akbar Khan Rono, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) adviser, 1971 Liberation War organiser, and writer, is at the Central Shaheed Minar on 11am Monday for final tributes.
His funeral will be held at the Dhaka University Central Mosque at 1:30pm the same day. Later he will be laid to eternal rest at Banani Cemetery.
Earlier in the day, his body was taken to the CPB Central Office at the city’s Mukti Bhaban. The party paid a tribute to him there.
CPB has declared Monday a day of mourning over the death of Haider Akbar Khan Rono, who passed away early Saturday around 1:45am while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital.
Black flags are being hoisted at party offices across the country on Monday, while party flags are being flown half-masted, and tributes are being paid to Haider Akbar Khan Rono's portrait.
