Three recently fired workers of a shoe factory stabbed their former human resource officer to death in Cumilla EPZ today.
The deceased was identified as Abul Bashar Shumon.
According to local sources, the deceased was returning home when three recently fired disgruntled workers stopped him in front of EPZ gate and asked for explanation behind their firings.
An intense argument broke out between them over the matter. At one point, the employees started stabbing Shumon repeatedly and fled.
He was swiftly taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police suspect that the victim might have died due to excessive bleeding.
A case has been filed with the local police station over the matter.
