Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari has called all walks of life to work together to build a peaceful, happy and prosperous Bangladesh as well as spread Islam across the globe.

He made the call at the reception of Sufi Jyoti organised by the Nagorik Sambardhana Committee (NSC) at the Engineers Institute Auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday.

“The people involved in humanitarian work are the best. Allah will also be happy if we work together to build a peaceful and prosperous country,” he said.

Saifuddin also pointed out that every religion in the world calls for establishing peace. On the other hand, atheists are breaking down harmony among people around the globe.

“So, all people should cordially follow religion’s rules and regulations properly. Also, we should not neglect other religions as well,” he added.

He also continued that Sufism’s key work is to serve people and work to ensure humanity in the country.

Speaking at the event, NSC Member Secretary Prof Shahid Manju said they organised the programme as Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari obtained a doctorate degree in intra-religion, peace and harmony from a university in Morocco this year.

“Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, chairman and founder of PHP Family, was supposed to read out the keynote paper on this occasion but he could not attend here due to illness. However, we are proud of Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari obtaining a doctorate degree, and spreading the country’s fame across the world,” he added.

Vice-Chancellor of Global University Bangladesh Prof Dr Anisuzzaman, Jatiya Party central leader Sadek Siddique, former Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research & Development) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Dr Md Shahidullah Sikder, and Advocate Subrata Chowdhury,  among others, also were present at the programme.
