Former Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs minister Anisul Huq and former prime minister’s private industry and investment adviser Salman F Rahman got arrested from the capital’s Sadarghat area on Tuesday.
Confirming the matter to the media on Tuesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Faruk Hossain said, “The duo was arrested this afternoon in a case filed with New Market police station.
“On a tip off, they were arrested from the Sadarghat area of the capital while trying to flee by waterways.”
Sheikh Hasina resigned from the position of prime minister on August 5 in the face of a mass uprising of students and people centring on quota reform. Soon after this, the ministers of the Sheikh Hasina government and other leaders of the Awami League went into hiding.
