A social organisation consisting of the diaspora community from Sandwip in Italy called "Sandwip Probashi Kallyan Trust" was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Apart from community leaders, expatriates from Sandwip were also present at the event held in a local hall room in Rome.
A partial committee of Sandwip Probasi Kallyan Trust was also announced. Mahabubul Maula Nasir was made president and Md Mozammel Hossain was made general secretary of the committee.
Nurul Akhtar Jahangir was made senior vice president, Helal Uddin was made joint general secretary, Aktar Hossain was made organisational secretary, Moazzem Hossain was made treasurer, while Mubarak Hossain, Jafar Islam, Abul Kalam Azad, Zahirul Islam Shipon, Kamrul Hasan, Monir Hossain Jabed, Khairul Islam were made executive members.
Md Samsul Kabir, Siddique Mia, Master Mofizur Rahman, Belayet Munshi, Shahidul Islam, Saber Muhammad Jamal were made advisors. A full-fledged committee will be formed soon.
