Senior lawyer of the Supreme Court Advocate Abdur Rezaq Khan and his wife were both admitted to a hospital after being identified as Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.
Another Supreme Court (SC) lawyer AKM Ehsanur Rahman confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
"Advocate Abdur Rezaq Khan and his wife were both admitted to the Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital in the capital after being infected by novel coronavirus," he said.
Abdur Rezaq Khan is around 80 years old.
In 1986, he was enrolled as a lawyer in the Supreme Court. He started his career as a lawyer in the Dhaka Judge's Court in 1984.
Abdur Rezak Khan was the lawyer for important criminal cases of the country including Bangabandhu murder case. He is the lawyer of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Abdur Rezaq Khan has also acted as a lawyer for the former President General Hussain Muhammad Ershad.
