The holy month of Ramadan begins in Bangladesh Wednesday as the new crescent moon was sighted in Bangladesh sky Tuesday evening.

The Ramadan calendar below shows the Islamic Foundation’s schedule of iftar and sehri timings in Bangla.

In Dhaka, the last time of sehri is fixed at 4:15am and the timing of iftar is 4:21pm for the first Ramadan.

This year, a maximum of 20 people, including khatib, imam, hafez, muazzin and khadem, will be allowed to perform Tarabi and five regular prayers at a mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ministry of Religious Affairs on Monday issued a circular in this regard.

The ministry also asked devotees to abstain from the practice of iftar and sehri in mosques as part of the measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19.
