The Shab-e-Barat holiday for both the divisions of Supreme Court, lower courts and tribunals has been rescheduled to March 30 instead of March 29.
Two separate notifications were issued in this regard, signed by Supreme Court’s acting registrar General Md Badrul Alam Bhuiyan.
According to the second notification, after rescheduling the Shab-e-Barat holiday, March 29 will be observed as vacation for both the divisions of Bangladesh Supreme Court.
Earlier on March 23, the government rescheduled the public holiday for the upcoming Shab-e-Barat on March 30 instead of March 29 since the holiday for the religious event is determined based on the sighting of the new moon.
National Moon Sighting Committee on March 14 had decided to observe the Shab-e-Barat on the night of March 29 as the moon of Shaban was not sighted in the country on that day.
