Shahabuddin to call Bangabhaban home from April 25

President-elect Mohammed Sahabuddin will take oath as the 22nd president of Bangladesh on April 24 at Bangabhaban.

On that day, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will read the oath to him at 11am, according to Cabinet Division.

All the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony will be organised by the Cabinet Division.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, chief justice, former presidents of the country, judges, cabinet members, parliamentarians, senior politicians, diplomats and eminent people are expected to attend the ceremony.

Incumbent President Abdul Hamid is set to complete his tenure on April 23. The next day President-elect Shahabuddin will take oath as the new president at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban.

President's press secretary Zainal Abedin said former President Abdul Hamid will leave Bangabhaban after the new president sworn in. He will receive a guard of honour. The new president will take office at Bangabhaban on April 25.
