Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury urged women of the society to utilise their abilities for the national development while speaking at an FBCCI programme in the capital on Friday.
The speaker was present as the the chief guest at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre on the third day of a 16-day programme titled "Bijoyer 50 Bochhor-Lal Sabujer Mohotshab" organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) with the support of Dhaka North City Corporation.
The speaker thanked the Prime Minister's Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser, Salman Fazlur Rahman, for his cooperation to make the event successful.
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury added that women’s role was immense from the Language Movement of 1952 to the Liberation War.
State Minister for Water Resources Zaheed Farooque addressed the function as special guest with FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin in the chair.
Former FBCCI president Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin was also present as the guest of honour while Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam gave the welcome speech.
