Chattogram shoe factory fire under control

A fire that broke out at a shoe sole factory at the Textile intersection area under Bayezid Bostami Police Station of Chattogram City on Friday has been brought under control.

Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the matter, reports Dainik Amader Shomoy.

The fire started around 4:30pm on the second floor of a 6-story building of Seem's Fashion and was soon engulfed, said Shibli Sadiq, a fire-fighter of Bayezid Fire Service and Civil Defence Station.

On information, six fire-fighting units from Bayezid, Agrabad and Chandanpura fire stations rushed to the spot and are working to douse the blaze, he added.

Currently, 12 firefighting units are working to bring the fire under control.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, he added.
