The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined ticketing site shohoz.com for its negligence in the ticket sale procedure.
The fine was imposed following a hearing on the negligence claim made by Dhaka University student Mohiuddin Rony, DNCRP Director General (DG) AHM Shafiquzzaman said in a press briefing on Wednesday.
In the hearing, Shohoz's negligence was established. They have five working days to pay Tk 2 lakh, said the DG.
Rony will get 25 per cent (Tk 50,000) of the entire fine amount, he added.
The DU student had been demonstrating for the previous 13 days at the Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka, calling for an end to the irregularities and poor management at Bangladesh Railway.
