Showcasing progress to foreign diplomats: Hasan

Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized outreach program for foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka so that they can know more about the country and its progress.

The minister made the remark while responding to journalists at the Chattogram Railway Station before leaving for Cox's Bazar by train after visiting various development projects in Chattogram with foreign diplomats.

Diplomats stationed in Dhaka and representatives from the international community are visiting Chattogram and Cox's Bazar with the Foreign Minister under the Ambassadors Outreach Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Hasan said that through this visit, the diplomats are getting to know Bangladesh and its capabilities better as well as the development activities under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"Through knowing Bangladesh, they will convey this message to their respective country. And they will spread these stories of Bangladesh to the world," he added.

Hasan said foreign diplomats should learn about the country, and they should see the impressive development activities that are taking place in the country.

"That is why they have been brought to Chattogram. And they will go to Cox's Bazar by train from Chattogram," he added.

Diplomats from the European Union, Russia, China, South Korea, Italy, Denmark, Kosovo, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Vatican, Bhutan, Spain, Argentina, Libya, Singapore, Australia, Egypt, and France were part of the group.

The diplomats visited the Bangabandhu Tunnel under the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram on Tuesday morning.
