Retail chain Shwapno has recently been awarded the GLOBALG.A.P certificate.
Shwapno has become the first and only member of GLOBALG.A.P in the retail category in Southeast Asia. It is also the first Bangladeshi company that has been awarded such a certificate, a press release said.
GlobalG.A.P., an international organisation, works to ensure the standards of food safety across the planet. It recognises the organisations that are engaged in the production and marketing of agricultural products following the right methods.
The certificate has been awarded after assessing the food safety standards of agricultural products. Prior to that, SGS India Private Limited conducted an audit in several phases.
After completing all the tests and formalities, the retail chain received the certificate on February 16, read the release.
Shwapno Executive Director Sabbir Hasan Nasir said, “Shwapno is the first GLOBALG.A.P. certified retailer in Southeast Asia. Receiving such a certificate is a matter of pride and relief for us.
