The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three due to the deep convection over the north Bay.

Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh as deep convection is taking place over the north Bay due to active monsoon, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin on Friday.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, it added.
