The country’s maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist the local cautionary signal no three. 

A depression has formed and may affect the ports later -- comes under the influence of a low pressure over Telangana and adjoining area now lies over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area.

The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the northern part of the country. Monsoon is active elsewhere over Bangladesh and North Bay, said a Met Office bulletin on Tuesday morning.

"All boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice," the bulletin added.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Chattogram division with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the forecast said.
