A Dhaka court granted bail to Ron Haque Sikder, son of Sikder Group owner Zainul Haque Sikder just hours after he was arrested.
Ashek Imam Peso, metropolitan magistrate of Dhaka, passed the order bail order pon a bond of Tk5,000.
March 10 has been fixed as the date for next hearing of the case.
The court granted the bail on humanitarian ground so that the accused can attend the Namaz-e Janaza of his father.
Earlier today, Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Sikder Group's Managing Director Ron Haque Sikder, soon after he landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday, in a case filed over threatening to kill two top officials of Exim Bank.
He was arrested by a team of the detectives led by Moshiur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Gulshan DB police, around 10am.
Golam Saklayen, additional deputy commissioner of Gulshan DB police, confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
Ron's father Zainul Haque Sikder, chairman of Sikder Group, died on February 10.
On May 19, a case was filed against Ron and his brother Dipu Haque Sikder for their alleged attempt to murder by shooting, detaining and torturing Exim Bank MD Mohammad Hayder Ali Mia and additional MD Mohammad Firoz Hossain over loan permission.
The two brothers fled the country following filing of the case.
As Ron was arrested upon his arrival from Dubai on Friday, Dipu Haque Sikder is still absconding.
