Sinha murder: 3 APBn members on 7-day remand

A Cox's Bazar court on Tuesday placed three members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on seven-day remand each in connection with Maj (Retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case.

Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the order.

APBn assistant sub-inspector Shahjahan and constables Rajib and Abdullah were arrested by RAB in the morning and later produced before the court with ten-day remand plea.

The trio were on duty at Shyamlapur Police Investigation Center in Baharchhara on the night of July 31 when Maj (retd) Sinha was reportedly killed in a police firing in Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive Road.

A total of ten people have been arrested so far in the murder case to date.

The slain Major’s sister Shahriar Sharmin, as a plaintiff, lodged a case on August 5 accusing nine people including Teknaf Police Station's former Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das and Baharchara police investigation centre in-charge Liakat Ali.
