A Cox’s Bazar court has placed three police members, including former Teknaf Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das, on 3-day remand each over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Tamanna Farah, Judge of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-3, Teknaf, granted the remand on Friday after Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced them before the court with a 4-day remand plea.
Earlier in the day, the defence lawyer prayed for bail and cancellation of the remand prayer. However, the court rejected the plea and granted 3 days remand for each of the three accused.
Earlier on 24 August, the court granted a 4-day remand of seven police members in the case after RAB produced them before the court with a 7-day remand plea.
Sinha was killed in police firing on Cox's Bazar Marine Drive on July 31.
