Sinha murder: 4 more cops, 3 witnesses on remand

A Cox's Bazar court on Wednesday placed seven accused including four cops each on 7-day remand in Maj (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.

Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Tamanna Farah passed the order after hearing a plea by the investigation officer (IO) of the case.

The four police members are — assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Liton Mia and constables Abdullah Al Mamun, Kamal Hossain and Safanur Karim.

The three other accused put on remand are witnesses Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Md Ayash.

Earlier, the IO of the case on Tuesday produced them before the court and sought 10 days’ remand for each.

On August 6, a Cox’s Bazar court placed Teknaf police station’s withdrawn Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das, Baharchhara police outpost’s Inspector Liakat Ali and Sub-Inspector Nanda Dulal Rakkhit on seven days' remand each.

Sinha was killed in a reported police firing in Marine Drive Road of Cox’s Bazar on July 31.
