Sirajganj-6 (Shahjadpur) constituency's Member of Parliament Md Hasibur Rahman Swapan died in a Turkish hospital on Thursday morning.
MP Swapan, former deputy minister of industries, was the president of Shahjadpur upazila Awami League.
Ashikur Rahman Dinar, MP's personal assistant and convener of Shahjadpur upazila Jubo League, confirmed the matter.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of MP Swapan.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
