The government is going to pay 2,679 nurses the equivalent of their two months' basic salary as a one-time special honorarium.
Frontline nurses, who have provided health care to Covid-19 patients will receive the benefit.
This will cost the government 11 crore 5 lakh 50 thousand 300 taka to pay the said number of nurses working at 22 hospitals in the country.
A circular, signed by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Mohammad Abu Yusuf, was issued in this regard on Wednesday.
According to the circular, the nurses who are directly engaged in the service of Covid-19 patients will receive this money.
However, those who have worked as outsourced nurses will not receive the cash benefit.
