The convening committee of the Sreemangal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Nodi Poribrajok Dol, an environmental and river affairs organisation, was announced on Thursday.
Syed Afzal Hossain was elected as the convenor and Hridoy Debnath as the member secretary of the six-member committee in an event titled “If rivers survive, the country will survive.”
The other members of the committee are Syed Afzal Hossain, Ali Amjad Imran, Sadiqul Islam, Imran Hossain, Alak Deb.
The full committee will be announced soon, said the Member Secretary Hridoy Debnath.
Environment activist Syed Afzal Hossain presided over the event under the direction of central committee Chairman Md Monir Hossain. At the event, Afzal Hossain discussed plans for different activities for the next one year.
Bangladesh Nodi Poribrajak Dal is basically a voluntary organisation formed for the protection of rivers and water bodies, environment, wildlife conservation and welfare of the riverside communities.
