Samples collected from the late State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh M Abdullah tested positive for Covid-19 infection.
Md Anwar Hossain, public relations officer of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, confirmed the matter, adding that Abdullah will be laid to rest at his native village in Gopalganj.
State Minister Sheikh Md Abdullah breathed his last at 11:45 pm Sunday (June 13) at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH), while undergoing treatment.
He was suffering from various health complications, including diabetes, Nazmul Haque Saikat, assistant private secretary (APS) of the state minister earlier told the reporters.
