A 24-year-old student was killed after a bus hit him in Dhaka's Rampura area on Thursday.
The deceased--Zahid Hasan--was studying BSc in Mechanical Engineering at North China Electric Power University.
His elder brother Imran Hossain said that they went to Gulshan for shopping from the Demra staff quarter by a bus and got off near Rampur bridge and were walking on the road.
Suddenly, the speeding bus hit Zahid and ran over him, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 5:20pm, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, added the inspector.
