A 14-year-old was killed after a passenger bus ran over him in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area on Thursday.
The deceased is identified as Rakibul Rakib, 14, who used to sell face masks on footpaths.
Rakibul was critically injured after he was crushed under the wheels of the bus. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where on-duty doctors declared him dead, DMCH police outpost Inspector Bacchu Miah confirmed to The Business Post.
The body has been sent to the hospital’s morgue for autopsy, the inspector added.
Earlier in the day, another man was killed after allegedly being pushed off by a helper from a running bus while arguing over fare near Joykali Mondir (temple) in Dhaka’s Wari.
