The Publisher of Daily Amader Shomoy and Advocate of Supreme Court's Appellate Division SM Baksh Kollol has passed away.
The 59-year-old died at Samorita Hospital in the capital around 3:30 am on Thursday.
Confirming the matter, his son Syed Mukit said, "At 3:30 am today (Thursday), father suffered from a heart attack. Later, he was taken to Samorita Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The publisher's first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the Amader Shomoy premises around midday. The second namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the Supreme Court premises after Zuhr prayers.
Hailing from Mirzanagar village under Keshabpur upazila of Jessore, Kollol is survived by his wife, son, brother, and many other benefactors.
Managing Director of Unique Group and New Vision Limited Mohammad Noor Ali, Director Ali Hossain Chowdhury, M Amanullah, and Acting Editor of Daily Amader Shomoy Mohammad Golam Sarwar have expressed deep grief over his sudden death.
