A Cox's Bazar court has placed three witnesses on another round of remand of 4 days each in a case filed over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Tamanna Farah passed the order on Tuesday after Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced them before the court with a 7-day remand plea.
The arrestees, Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Md Ayash, are residents of Marishbania area of Baharchhara union in Teknaf.
Earlier on August 12, these three individuals were placed on 7 days remand each along with four policemen.
They were made prime witnesses in two cases which were filed against Maj (retd) Sinha's associate Shipra Debnath and Shahedul Islam Sifat.
On 24 August, Judge Tamanna Farah granted a 4-day remand of seven police members, including Pradeep Kumar Das, over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha after RAB produced them before the court with a 7-day remand plea.
On 6 August, a Cox’s Bazar court remanded three police officers, Officer-in-Charge Pradeep Kumar Das, Inspector Liaqat Ali and Sub-Inspector Nandadulal Rakhshit on a 7-day remand.
Sinha was killed in police firing on Cox's Bazar Marine Drive on July 31.
