Commander Arafat Islam, the director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Legal and Media Wing, on Thursday said the RAB intelligence is monitoring ticket black marketeering rackets, and this malpractice will go extinct within this year.

Visiting the Kamalapur Railway Station as part of RAB monitoring on the Eid exodus of city dwellers, he said, “This year, 100 per cent of long-distance (intercity) train tickets have been sold online.

“Besides, on the day of the journey, 25 per cent of tickets without seats are being sold.”

Arafat added that RAB surveillance has been increased at every station to make the Eid journey safer for holidaymakers.

"We have enabled mobile tracking. We have deployed watchtowers, control rooms, and mobile teams at every bus stand, launch terminal, and railway station. We are investigating any complaints immediately,” he assured.
