The Border Guard Bangladesh claimed to have seized some 950 grams of heroin worth Tk 19 lakh from the border area of the district early on Thursday.
The seizure was made from a mango orchard in the Kironganj border area of the district's Shibganj upazila, 59 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion said in a release.
A petrol team led by Kironganj BOP’s Nayeb Subedar Renu Mia made the seizure during a drive around 1:00am, on a tip-off.
Necessary legal measures will be taken in this regard, said BGB.
