Jubo Dal leader Nure Alam Siddiqui Piton was directed to pay Tk 10,000 to anyone killing or injuring police personnel, and the figure was Tk 5,000 for Bangladesh Chhatra League members, amid the violence during quota reform movement.

The Detective Branch (DB) Cyber and Special Crime (North) Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) mentions that Piton received this instruction from London. Nure Alam Siddiqui's brother-in-law Abdul Aziz alias Sultan was instructed to execute this directive in the field.

Making this disclosure at a press briefing in the DB office on Thursday, DMP’s Additional Commissioner and DB Chief Harun-or-Rashid added, “The arrested Abdul Aziz had sent the street urchins and rootless people intoto the student’s processions in exchange for money.

“After that, he was instructing Jamaat-Shibir and BNP cadres to wreak havoc across the country through killings, vandalism, arson, and looting. According to the guidelines, if anyone killed or injured police, they will get Tk 10,000, while the figure was Tk 5,000 for BCL activists.”

In exchange of money, the street urchins and rootless people engaged in vandalism, arson and destruction of a number of important buildings in the country, including establishments in Uttara and Abdullahpur in the capital, the DB Chief added.
