The Local Government Division (LGD) on Friday allocated Tk 25 crore from the Prime Minister’s relief fund for the employees of municipalities.
LGD issued a Government Order (GO) in this regard.
A total of 327 municipalities would get the allocated money, said a press release.
Earlier, PM approved the allocation when Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam informed her about the sufferings of municipality workers for not getting salary amid coronavirus outbreak.
The allocation was made as the municipality’s regular revenue earning was reduced due to coronavirus pandemic.
