Toll hits 19 as clashes rage on across country

At least 19 people have been killed in three days across the country amid the ongoing movement seeking quota reform for government jobs. 

So far, 12 people have been killed in clashes between protesters and law enforcers on Thursday. The remaining seven died last Tuesday and Wednesday.

Among those killed during clashes, one died in Rangpur, thirteen in Dhaka, three in Chattogram, one in Madaripur, and one in Narsingdi.

On Thursday, nine people were killed in the capital. Six of them were killed in Uttara. Apart from this, a student of Residential Model College of Dhaka, a pedestrian in Rampura, and a rickshaw driver in Jatrabari were killed during clashes in Dhanmondi.

Shaikh Ashabul Yamin, a student of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) died in a clash in Savar, Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the fire service recovered the body of a missing student in Madaripur, who fell into the Shakuni lake while being chased by the police during protests demanding cancellation of quota

A school student named Tahmid Tamim was killed in a clash with the police in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila.

Rangpur saw the first death

First death of the quota reform movement occurred in Rangpur last Tuesday. Abu Sayed, who was killed in a shooting, was a student of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur. 

Three people were killed in Chattogram and two in Dhaka on the same day. On Wednesday, a young man named Siam was killed in a clash in the Shanir Akhra area of ​​Dhaka.
