Tourism fair begins in Chattogram

A three-day travel and tourism fair has begun in Chattogram to facilitate direct communication between travel enthusiasts and travel service providers and promote tourism in the port city. The fair will continue until January 8.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali inaugurated the fair – Chittagong Travel Mart 2022 at the Peninsula Chittagong Hotel, said a press release on Thursday.  

In his inaugural speech, State Minister Mahbub Ali said, “The country is in efforts to bounce back with its great tourism potentials. As part of it, Chattogram Airport is also under modernization works to boost tourism and trade in the port city.

“An iconic tourism fair such as TripLover’s CTM-2022 will play a pivotal role in bolstering tourism and trade in Chattogram,” added the state minister.    

Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) CEO Jabed Ahmed, Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Mahbubul Alam also attended the inaugural function.

The speakers at the function stressed increased connectivity to Chattogram.

The port city is a pivotal trade and tourism hub of the country. Hence, to flourish further in these sectors, there is an urgent need of connectivity increase to Chattogram, they said.

Aviation and travel trade publication The Bangladesh Monitor is organising the fair while the online Travel Agency (OTA) TripLover and Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) are supporting the event as the title sponsor and the NTO partner respectively.

A total of 26 participants are showcasing their products and services in 29 stalls at the fair venue.

Participants are offering exciting discounts on air tickets, tour packages, hotel rooms and other tourism products and services for the visitors during fair days.
