Tourism will be one of the main sources of economic freedom for people in the country, said State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali on Tuesday.
The state minister came up with the remarks while attending a seminar at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka marking the Mujib Borsho.
“Country’s tourism sector will provide employment, improve living standard of people, initiate rural development and environmental safety with the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina”, he said.
The dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman regarding the development of tourism is now being implemented with the measures taken by the Prime Minister, he said.
Prime Minister has created suitable environment for flourishment of tourism in the country, he added.
Chairman of Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) Satyajit Karmakar, Bangladesh Tourism Corporation Chairman Md Hannan Mia, Supreme Court Advocate Dr Bashir Ahmed, Managing Director of Hotel International Limited Dr Aminur Rahman Khan were present there, among others.
