A tourist drowned while taking a bath along the beach at Laboni point in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
The deceased, Shahjahan, 40, a resident of Chattogram, went to the beach along with his family.
Cox's Bazar Tourist Police ASP Molla Mohammad Shahin said Shahjahan and his family members were taking a bath in the morning.
While bathing in the knee-deep water, he was washed away by a strong wave.
After a search operation by his relatives and local lifeguards, Shahjahan's body was found floating in the water.
He was immediately rushed to Cox's Bazar General Hospital where he was declared dead by the duty doctor.
