Tourist ships resume plying Teknaf-St Martin route

After two days of closure on the Teknaf-St Martin sea route, the operation of tourist ships resumed plying on Thursday.

Three ships left Damdamiya Jetty Ghat in Teknaf for St. Martin Island with around 1,300 tourists around 10am. All the operation of the sea route was suspended by the Teknaf Upazila administration for two days for Cyclone Hamon.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Adnan Chowdhury said the ban on the movement of all kinds of vessels including tourist ships on the route was lifted this morning.

Stranded tourists could return mainland today, he added.
