The government has decided to allow tourist spots, and community and recreation centres to reopen with half of their capacities from August 19.

Besides, all public transport including buses, trains and launches will operate in full swing from August 19 following proper hygiene rules.

A gazette notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Thursday.

Authorities must ensure health guidelines, including wearing masks to curb Covid-19 transmission, the notification said.

Violation of health safety regulations will lead to legal consequences, it added.

Earlier, all types of public transports resumed operation at full capacity on Wednesday as a countrywide strict lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19 ends after 19 days.

Besides, all shops, shopping malls, banks, and other businesses resumed full-scale operation from Wednesday to revive the country’s economy from the negative impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

The government also allowed all private and government offices to reopen from Wednesday. Restaurants were allowed to reopen with 50 per cent of their seating arrangements.

On July 30, the government allowed industry owners to reopen all export-oriented factories from August 1.
