Benapole Transport Agency Owners Association will go for an indefinite strike from Tuesday demanding adequate cranes and forklifts for the country's largest land port.
“There are not enough cranes and forklifts for loading and unloading heavy goods at the port. Most of them have been untenable for a long time. As a result, delivery of goods has almost stopped”, Benapole Transport Agency Owners Association General Secretary Azim Uddin said on Monday.
Benapole Land Port Deputy Director (Traffic) Abdul Jalil said, “supplier Black Bengal Enterprise has been asked to provide new cranes and forklifts, including repairing old crane-forklifts”.
“We are hoping that this problem will be solved soon,” he added.
