Additional Attorney General Murad Reza and Additional Attorney General Md Momtaz Uddin Fakir have resigned from their position.

Both of the additional attorney generals confirmed the matter themselves to the Business Post.

Earlier, they both submitted their resignation letters to President Abdul Hamid.

Momtaz Uddin cited personal reasons for his resignation. However, Murad Reza did not mention any reason for resigning.

On October 8, AM Amin Uddin, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and President of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, was appointed as the new attorney general.

Mahbubey Alam, Bangladesh's longest-serving attorney general, died from coronavirus on September 27.
